Camping at Spa-Francorchamps during the Belgian Grand Prix offers an excellent opportunity to savor the atmosphere and conveniently avoid the post-race traffic congestion around the circuit.
The Spa Grand Prix website provides four official campsites for the Belgian Grand Prix.
Green Camping at Spa is the largest and most popular campsite located outside the circuit near Les Combes, Malmedy, and Bruxelles corners, with easy access to the Les Combes spectator entrance and Spa Green parking area. Camping tickets are available for 4 nights from Thursday to Sunday, and you can purchase them directly through the Spa Grand Prix website. The tickets come with a vehicle pass so you can drive in and set up the camp while friends can join on foot. Glamping options are offered for a 4-day weekend, starting at €980 for a group of 4 people sharing one tent. Reservations can be made on either the official website or GrandPrix.camp, which oversees the Green camping and glamping facilities. The camping atmosphere is wild, with enthusiastic Dutch Max Verstappen fans partying to Eurobeat and Dutch folk music.
Yellow Camping at Spa F1 is a quieter campsite situated at the far end of the circuit in the village of Francorchamps, approximately 1.5km away from the La Source circuit entrance, requiring around a 20-minute walk. Tickets and rules for the Yellow camping area are similar to the other sites. Glamping options are available, starting at €760 for two people sharing one tent for three nights, but there are more affordable options with private camping companies nearby. The camping atmosphere is family-oriented and peaceful, offering a relaxing experience after a day at the circuit, with less noise compared to the green camping area.
Young Village Spa F1 is a lively campsite for people aged 17 to 27 who love racing during the day and partying at night. It's located close to the green campsite, about 500 meters from the entrance to the 17 – 27 area at Stavelot Corner. Camping costs €120 per person, including one car space, so it's best to carpool with friends. Tents can be set up in assigned pitches, with bigger groups getting adjacent spaces. The campsite is exclusively for tents, and it offers a festival-like atmosphere with live DJs and a stage, perfect for party enthusiasts.
Camping Masta offers a more luxurious and spacious camping experience, but it's located far from the track. It's about a 2.5km walk from the La Source entrance in the hamlet of Masta, taking around 45 minutes on foot. Shuttle buses are available but not very reliable, so consider bringing a bike instead. The campsite offers two ticket options: Standard ( €295) for up to 2 people per pitch with your own tent and gear, and Comfort (€655) with breakfast included. The atmosphere is relaxed with some evening entertainment, but it's not a hardcore party area like the green camping or Youth Village. Generators are not allowed to maintain a quieter environment.
The official Spa F1 camping areas tend to sell out quickly once the tickets are released, often well in advance of the event. If you miss out on the official sites, there are plenty of other campsites near the circuit that offer different packages for the F1 weekend. Additionally, some private campsites provide electricity hookups, which may not be available with the official Spa F1 camping options.
If you want a quieter and upscale camping experience at the grand prix, choose GPtents. They offer camping pitches for tents and motorhomes, as well as pre-erected 'hotel tents' in the Green Zone. Prices start at €300 for camping pitches for up to 5 people, Thursday to Monday, and €990 for 'hotel tents' for two nights/two people with bedding, breakfast, electricity, and parking included.
For a fun and vibrant atmosphere at Spa, consider camping at Easy Camping. It's a short 15-minute walk from the Combes gate in the Green Zone at the top of the circuit. The site offers clean facilities and a focus on nightlife and socializing with friends and other fans.
